Astrodyne TDI is looking for an NPI Technician for EMI Filters who is hands-on, works well in a team environment along with being an excellent team player with a positive attitude. Our NPI Technicians will work with design and manufacturing engineers during all stages of new product development and manufacturing, including creation of prototypes and fixtures, performing testing, failure analysis and troubleshooting of EMI filters and Power Distribution Units (PDU). Job Responsibilities: Work with Engineers (Mechanical and Electrical) to assemble power electronic systems and prototypes according to specifications. Help in the creation and implementation of test plans for prototype EMI filters and PDUsCollaborate with engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems that may arise as part of the 1st time build process.Identify potential failure trends when troubleshooting prototype EMI filters and PDUsCuts, strips, crimps, or otherwise assembles the materials used to produce cable assembliesKnowledge of J-STD and IPC-610/620Interact with Production team to transfer final product to production.Assemble and install combinations of components, wiring, sub-assemblies and hardware using schematics and drawingsMay also work from sketches and oral instructionsRecords effective assembly sequence, techniques, layout dimensions and locations as necessary Qualifications: A minimum of a H.S. diploma/GED is required. An Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology or similar discipline with minimum two years of experience working on Electronics is a preferred. The candidate must have a practical understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts and work with electronic test equipment (Oscilloscope, DMM, etc.) and have hands on mechanical experience. In addition, must be able to read and understand schematics, identify power electronics technologies and troubleshoot based on given information. The candidate should also have good communication skills, writes comprehensive technical report and is proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
