ForeverU Announces a NEW Youth Empowerment Program Aimed at Supporting Adolescent Mental Health On Behalf of Mental Health Awareness Month and Mental Health Action Day On May 20, 2021, ForeverU, a local nonprofit youth development organization, was a featured partner in the inaugural Mental Health Action Day.  The organization, which aims to impact youth mental health and wellness, joined more than 1,300 organizations, brands, government agencies, and cultural leaders to drive the conversation from mental health awareness to mental health action.  On behalf of Mental Health Action Day and Mental Health Awareness Month, ForeverU announced a two-day digital workshop for students in grades 7 - 12 called “Arise,” which is part one of their new three-part program experience that was designed over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. A common theme among young people is placing limitations on whomthey can become and what they can achieve. This FREE workshop will help students unlock access to the capabilities already present inside them and will allow them to establish a road map for their ideal life path. Later this summer, students who participate in this workshop will have additional opportunities to continue their journey of self-discovery through a six-month mentorship experience called "Ascend," and overnight camp experiences called "Camp Apex." Convened by MTV Entertainment Group...Mental Health Action Day is an open-source movement aimed at motivating people to take action to get mental health support — whether for themselves, their lovedones, or for everyone by advocating for systemic changes for mental health access and equity. The cross-sector collaboration calling attention to the great need for support and action to address mental health in the sameway we treat physical health needs is groundbreaking. These actions are only the beginning of media and tech companies tononprofits, consumer brands, government agencies, and cultural leaders.  Coalition partners hosted a series of activities ranging from public events featuring experts and activists to employee engagement activities, encouraging and empowering people to take initial action, whether for themselves or others, to support their mental health needs.
