Nashua Ends Coronavirus Mask, Face Covering Mandate

NASHUA, NH — The city of Nashua has rescinded its mask and face covering mandate to protect from the spread of the coronavirus. The board of alderman amended the ordinance on Tuesday and Mayor Jim Donchess signed it on Thursday. The amended ordinance stated residents and visitors who have received the COVID-19 vaccine are no longer required to wear a face covering while indoors or outdoors "unless required by that business, organization, or worksite in Nashua requires a mask." However, anyone who is unvaccinated is advised to continue to wear a mask — "for their own protection and that of others that are fully vaccinated or until appropriate health organization deems it safe to not wear a mask." In a statement, the Nashua Joint Information Center said, "In accordance with CDC recommendations, unvaccinated persons are recommended to stay 6 feet apart from those they do not live with and are recommended to avoid crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces."
