Pairings Wine Bar Restaurant in Pleasanton is looking for guest-driven, hardworking and dedicated individuals to provide exceptional experiences for our guests. Our restaurant is known for providing superior service, high-quality menus with the freshest ingredients, sophisticated, Wine Spectator Award Winning Wine List and local & regional beers. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and respectful with a positive attitude, sense of urgency, hospitality driven and team player mindset. KITCHEN CHEF/MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS · Serve as Lead Kitchen Chef during service hours. Ensure proper preparation, expediting and pacing of orders. · Oversee and manage all areas of the BOH and make decisions on matters of day-to-day operational importance. · Serve as team leader, supervising approximately four to five staff members, ensuring adherence to quality control standards, preparing customer orders, as well as store opening and closing, as necessary. · Oversee, prepare and ensure the timely preparation of ingredients for menu items, according to quality standards, personally undertaking preparation of ingredients. · Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of preparation areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances. · Estimate inventory and production needs, place orders with suppliers, schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies, manage inventory turn over and rotation. · Enhances reputation by accepting ownership for and accomplishing new and different menu items; estimates food costs and adjusts menus. Minimum qualifications: · Previous food preparation and service experience at the manager/chef level in a commercial food establishment · Strong cooking skills, including knife skills, knowledge and understanding of a variety of cooking techniques · Customer service orientation with an outgoing personality and ability to engage positively with customers · Attention to detail and ability to multitask · Order supplies, food and ingredients based on rapidly shifting demand · Maintain inventory levels and conduct full weekly inventory · We are searching for someone available to work 5 days a week (including weekends). · Solid foundation of knowledge in food products and cooking. · Respond personally to guest questions and complaints · Ability to lift up to 50 pounds · Knowledge and understanding of Alameda County DOH health and safety regulations, and employee on the job injury reporting requirements. · Must have Alameda County DOH Food Manager Protection Certificate. · Candidates must share Pairings commitments to quality, safety, business ethics, and continuous innovation.
