While most banks and government offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, many stores and restaurants will be open for business as usual. Here is a look at what will be closed on Memorial Day in Cornelius: Public library: Closed Town of Cornelius offices: Closed Trash Collection: No pick-up on Monday, one-day delay State offices and courts: Closed Post Office: Closed Banks: Closed Mecklenburg County offices: Closed Department of Social Services: Closed. The Department of Social Services hotlines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect.
