Press release from the Cobb County Government: May 26, 2021 The Board of Commissioners, during its regular meeting May 25, announced the appointment of former Cobb Community and Economic Development Director Michael Hughes to the county Planning Commission. Hughes, who was nominated by Commissioner Monique Sheffield, has served as the executive director of the Paulding County Economic Development and Industrial Building Authority since February. He previously worked for Cobb County Government for 23 years. The Planning Commission advises the Board of Commissioners and assists in the administration and enforcement of zoning in the county.
