Job Summary Responsible for processing all point of sale transactions through the cash registers, accurately and in a timely manner. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities •Assists customers with selection of products. •Works with customers to ensure effective and ongoing relationships. •Adheres to and advises customers of delivery and return policies. •Provides product specifications upon request. •Assures product literature is current and in stock. •Produces, distributes and obtains confirmation of job quotations to homeowners and contractors. •Performs other duties as assigned. Nature and Scope •Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor. •Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior co-worker and/or supervisor. Work Environment •Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds). •Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. •No travel required. Education and Experience •HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
