I posted this earlier & someone flagged it. If you are going to do this at least tell me why. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I tried to keep the original post short & sweet, I apologize for the length now. For those of you wondering why we don’t rehome: Typically we take in birds that could possibly have a hard time finding another home due to personality issues. We have a baby without a beak that needs a special diet. We had an older bird that spent the majority of her life in a cage too small & had very little human interaction. She was with us for 10 years before she passed from old age. We do not take in more than we can give individual attention to or more than we have room for. The bird in the photo came from an environment that was not healthy for her. Once her ex-owner’s situation had changed & had been healthy for an acceptable amount of time (that I determined) she was able to go back. I get to FaceTime with her (the bird) regularly & since the owner is my sister in law we get to visit. We cannot take anymore parakeets because they tend to get aggressive when you have too many & because we are unable to give them time outside of their cages. The parakeets we currently have are compatible. I do not want to stress them out or put them in danger by adding more. We currently have a few openings for your feathered friends. A rescue retirement home means we do not rehome the birds that come to us & we absolutely DO NOT BREED! We have experience with all sizes of beaks & love them all. Due to cage restrictions we are not accepting parakeets nor are we set up for outside birds. We are a judgment free zone, any questions asked are so we can get to know the bird & their background. We have an Instagram account (I’ve been on an Instagram break so it hasn’t been updated recently) set up so you can check on your baby and/or take a look at our setup.
