Commercial/Residential Carpenters are the project craftsmen for all of our projects. Applicants should have experience in custom residential remodeling projects and fine finish and trim. Must be familiar with typical construction materials. Craftsmen also will have experience with siding, framing, finish work, doors, windows, and demolition. They will also need to understand the critical path of construction. Must be extremely reliable, know how to organize and maintain their work area in a safe, orderly manner, and take responsibility to ensure that all projects are produced to the highest standard of quality artisanship, properly constructed per project documents, and completed within time allotments. Commercial/Residential Carpenters should also be able to work with project material suppliers, tradesmen, project managers, and other craftsmen. Responsibilities Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met Resolve problems when they arise Report on progress to managers, engineers etc. Understands the carpentry scope of each project. Works directly with the Superintendent and Supervisor and reviews scope, timelines, and schedules prior to the start of the job. Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. Performs construction tasks, during the finish stage, using materials such as wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials. Conducts fitting and installation of doors, door hardware, crown molding, interior, and exterior trim. Uses woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools. Skills Proven experience as commercial/residential carpenter In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints Experience in Finish Carpentry is a plus Excellent organizational skills Ability to communicate and report effectively Aptitude in math Problem-solving abilities Good physical condition and stamina High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (carpentry) California Drivers License (Required) Must have own vehicle, Truck (Required) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
