Description
Hey what's up and thanks for reading! I am looking for a few skilled jammers to form a band for fun and musical expression. The idea is to play songs (rock, blues, traditional, original, any good song) in a non-cover kind of way with talented players that can really improvise and play the song differently each time (like jazz players do). Keep the important/defining parts of a song (structure) and use that as a vehicle to jam and have interplay as musicians. I am a 50 year old guitarist and I also play keyboards.
Yes:
--Writing songs or coming up with your own parts to a song
--Improvising (Take a solo!)
--Playing existing songs with our own interpretation (different tempo, feel, chord substitutions, arrangement, etc.)
--Understand some theory and speak the language; jazz experience a plus
No:
--Playing cover tunes note for note
--Pressure to play out all the time or make money
I am looking for a traditional rock format so we need singers, bass, and drums. However if you play something else and can jam let's try it; diversity is cool (no limits)!
I have some samples on soundcloud under the name Jammin' in Kent
