Express Employment is seeking a Custodian for a state hospital in Nampa to join their team! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PURPOSE: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for: A. daily cleaning and sanitation, trash and waste control, preventative maintenance cleaning, and providing custodial coverage for special events and/or activities. B. Study and practice learning organizations discipline-mental models, personal mastery, shared vision, system thinkin, and team learning. Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm $12/hour •ROUTINE CLEANING 1.Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas, such as patient rooms, nursing stations, examination and treatment rooms, public and patient lavatories lounges offices corridors etc. 2.Sweep dust dust-mop and wet mop floors and stairways spot clean and vacuum floors rugs carpets and runners rotate runner in hallways, entryways, etc. 3.Clean and sanitize beds in designated areas. 4.Collect trash and refuse from work areas and place in designated pick up areas. 5.Clean, sanitize, and polish bath, lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities; stock dispensers as necessary. 6.Dust, wash, sponge-mop, sanitize, and hand-shampoo furniture; clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, windowsills, etc. 7.Scrub bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames and sills, etc. 8. •PREVENTING MAINTENANCE CLEANING 1.Operate various types of scrubbing, buffing, and hand shampooing equipment, such as scrubbing machines, vacuums, wet dry pickup machines, etc. as well as hand tools when required. 2.Sweep, scrub, strip, seal, wax, and shampoo various types of floors, floor coverings, and furniture. 3.Clean shades and covers from permanent lighting fixtures. 4.Remove, clean, and replace Venetian blinds, roller blinds, window screens, wall hangings, etc. 5.Remove accumulated waste and debris from designated areas. 6.Remove, move, and/or relocate furniture and equipment to accommodate cleaning. 7.Remove and prepare draperies for cleaning. 8. •OPERATION AND UPKEEP OF HOUSEKEEPING EQUIPMENT 1.Operate various types of scrubbing, buffing, and shampooing equipment, such as scrubbing machines, vacuums, wet-dry pick-up machines, etc. and hand tools when required. 2.Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition, report needed repairs or unusual conditions to supervisor. 3.Ensure security of equipment and tools. 4.Use the appropriate equipment for each type of cleaning operation. 5.Provide routine and systematic inspection and cleaning of equipment. 6. •PRODUCT SELECTION AND USAGE 1.Determine compounds and materials to be used for different types of cleaning. 2.Measure and mix cleaning compounds, disinfectants and sanitizing agents. 3.Determine proper mixtures rations and application methods for cleaning compounds. 4.Apply cleaning compounds per policy guidelines or manufacturers instructions. 5.Ensure the preparation of surfaces in accordance with the guidelines of the custodial procedures or manufacturers recommendations for each cleaning product. 6.Store cleaning compounds in a secure areas. 7.Ensure that all cleaning supplies are clearly labeled with the product name. 8.Requisition supplies from supervisor. 9.Stock janitorial closet shelves. 10. •OTHER DUTIES 1.Provide backup for other custodial positions 2.Maintain assigned schedules and records of labor and supplies for cleaning activities. 3.Perform work assignments and tasks in other department of the hospital, to include but not necessarily be limited to, the laundry, custodial, maintenance. And materials management. 4.Safety 1.Secure and maintain all supplied and equipment. 2.Observe and report to custodial supervisor and treatment unit staff any patients activities, physical conditions, or behaviors that poses a danger to patient, other patients, visitors, or employees. 3.Observe and abide by all safety policies, standards, and regulations, including the requirement of material safety data sheets, for all products and equipment used by the custodial department.
