Express is hiring seasonal QA techs for a seed company in Homedale must have some experience in the food industry with QA. Must be able to work long hours, and 6 days a week during harvest season. Schedule: Monday to Friday (Occasional Saturday's) 7:00am-5:30pm Pay: $14.50/hour ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Maintain consistent quality standards on all incoming and outgoing product •Test and inspect product at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance to company standards •Communicates variations in Housekeeping and National Food Safety standards to the Plant Manager as they occur •Understanding of quality standards for the company and seed certifying agencies •Product grade sampling for all incoming bulk product •Monitor and complete necessary documentation with grade and lot information •Ensure that all QC documentation is complete and accurate •Pull and submit germination samples to appropriate seed labs and software •Review germination results and bring concerns to attention of management •Track and manage germination/purity testing •Pull and record seed counts throughout cleaning process •Maintain and enforce a safe, clean working environment per SQF, Food Safety, GMP and sanitation guidelines •Work in the office as needed to assist Office Clerk •Performs other duties as assigned by Manager •Observe safety rules •Utilize correct PPE for assigned tasks •Analyze/Grade final clean product to ensure it meets physical appearance specification •Operate moisture machine •Manage and track sample storage and retention QUALIFICATIONS: •High School Diploma or GED •2 – 4 years’ quality control experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food manufacturing environment •Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment •Must have good written and verbal communication skills •Must display positive attitude •Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow •Effectively manage time and delegate responsibilities as needed •Willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm •Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) •Attention to detail PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Occasionally lift and carry up to and sometimes above 50 lbs •Use ladders and climb stairs •Sit and/or stand for long periods •Repetitive fine motor skills use.
