Description
58 y.o. bass player available for projects and jamming. Too busy to be looking for a working band, so I'm looking for every other week or so. Capable of learning material on my own so I don't waste anyone's time during practice. When we get together I want to play, not sit around and talk about music.
Grew up with classic rock and jazz fusion, pick up material very quickly, have good gear and am drama-free.
Wide variety of musical interests including classic/southern/hard/pop rock, prog, blues, jazz, fusion. However, no country, hip-hop or rap.
Influences include Zappa, Santana, Van Morrison, Traffic, Al Dimeola, Bad Company, Hendrix, Mayall, Steely Dan, Steve Miller, Doors, Allmans, Deep Purple, Doobies, Zeppelin, Beatles, some Southern Rock... you get the idea. Did I mention Zappa? :) As a child of the 70s, while I'm not musically stuck in that era it's certainly the one I enjoy the most. Prefer playing deep cuts versus ones heard on the radio all the time.
Very adept at improvisation. If you're looking to duplicate songs, I can do that but I prefer room to move around and mix it up. I love having a great drummer to work with to create a solid rhythm. I listen to everyone--after getting in synch with the drummer.
No vocal ability other than straight blues tunes with a limited octave range.
If interested, drop a line. Thank you.
