Job Description The Night Shift Inventory Stocker is part of a unique team that will be responsible for offloading trucks, putting away stock, and counting inventory while customer are not at the store. The schedule is Monday-Friday from 3:30pm to 12:00am (midnight). This position will operate just like any other inventory team member by receiving and stocking materials after business hours. Employees must possess the ability to perform the following duties: • Learn and quickly identify building materials sold at the store. • Keep the yard a welcoming and clean environment. • Load and unload material transfers to and from the shipping yard via flatbed trucks. • Stock material in a neat and presentable fashion while adjusting out any loss or damage. • Use forklifts for various tasks. • Understand and observe all safety procedures. • Conduct yourself each day in a manner consistent with Dunn Lumber’s core values (honesty, integrity, and empathy). • Other duties as assigned. This position’s schedule falls under Dunn Lumber’s extended hours pay period. This pay period starts at 7:00 pm and stops at 5:00 am. Any employees working within these times will earn their hourly pay plus an additional 40%. Qualifications This position requires employees to maintain a current forklifting certification. Previous forklift and warehouse experience is strongly preferred, but not required. Forklift certification is done on the job at no additional cost to the employee. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have competent typing skills and general computer use abilities. Employees will be shown our inventory management and receiving system with the expectation of being able to successfully learn and navigate the software. A high attention to detail is essential. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is expected to frequently push, pull, and lift building materials weighing 30-60lbs or more. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is subject to moderately heavy work. Additional Information This is an entry level position; all training is done on the job. This includes product knowledge, inventory management system training, and operation of equipment such as radial arm saws and forklifts. This is an indoor/outdoor warehouse work environment that requires the employee to work in the heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Most of this shift will be at night with reduced visibility. The warehouse and forklifts are well lit, but the surrounding area may have dim or low lighting depending on location and time of year.
