She was a model, movie star and pop culture icon. She continues to be Hollywood’s most iconic Bombshell Sex Symbol almost 60 years after her death. Marilyn snagged her first professional photo shoot at The Hollywood Roosevelt’s Tropicana Pool. In honor of her 95th birthday, The Tropicana Pool will pay tribute to her memory by screening one of Marilyn Monroe’s most iconic films, Some Like it Hot. 1952’s Some Like It Hot, directed by Billy Wilder and starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon, is considered by many to be one of the greatest comedy films of all time. On release, the film received universal acclaim from critics, and received six Academy Award nominations. Dress up in the theme of the movie and receive a free cocktail or candy at the concession stand.
