*In person class* Our CPR: Infant & Child class uses the American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR content -(BB)
Our in-person CPR: Infant & Child class offers instruction in the techniques for both infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This class uses the American Heart Association's (AHA) Family & Friends CPR curriculum, and is intended for anyone who wants to learn CPR, but does not need an AHA course completion card. We recommend this course to new parents, grandparents and other caregivers of newborns through school-aged children. An instructional booklet and resources is given to each couple.
During this 2.5 hour class, your AHA certified instructor will guide you through appropriate techniques for CPR and choking hazards, along with watching video demonstrations. Each couple will have the opportunity for hands-on practice on both infant and child manikins. All manikins will be sanitized prior to your class. Gloves and disinfecting wipes will also be available during class. Families will keep their masks on for the entirety of the class, and there will be no breathing into the manikins.
The health and safety of our patients, families, and staff are important to us. As part of our response to COVID-19, we continue to follow safe practices from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also called the CDC. Some of these practices include wearing a mask and screening for COVID-19. Please reference this handout to learn what you should expect when taking an in-person class with us.
As with all of our classes, we encourage you to attend with your partner. During registration, one ticket allows for the two of you to attend together.
