Fire Breaks Out At Scrapyard Near Tampa International Airport

TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was called to the 6000 block of Benjamin Road at 1:10 p.m. Monday when a fire broke out at a scrapyard near Tampa International Airport. A column of smoke was visible north of the airport. Due to the large amount of metal and other materials involved, firefighters used an elevated stream of water to extinguish the blaze. There were no injuries.
