Description
TAMPA, FL — A 30-year-old Tampa man has been arrested in connection with the sexual battery of an 11-year-old girl who lives in Bay County.
Cory S. Hutchinson of 4902 N. MacDill Ave., Tampa, was arrested following a joint investigation that began as a missing person report in Bay County.
On March 20, the 11-year-old girl was reported missing from her home in Bay County after she was last seen on March 13. The girl was returned to her home on March 21. An investigation showed she'd been communicating by phone with Hutchinson and that the two were together in several cities, including Tampa and Orlando, during the time she was missing.
The investigation provided probable cause in Bay County for Hutchinson's arrest for interference with child custody, transmission of harmful material to a minor and use of device to solicit sex with a minor.
While in the Bay County Jail, Hutchinson admitted to traveling to the girl's home where he picked her up and took her to his apartment in Tampa.
As a result, Hutchinson was charged by Tampa police with three counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim under 12, three counts of sexual battery of a victim under 12 and one count of traveling to meet a minor to solicit illegal acts.
