GREENDALE, WI — Greendale's own Battle of the Bands will be coming to Village Days in August, but the competition has to be narrowed down more- six contestants now are vying for three spots at the Village Days Hose Tower stage on August 14. In the meantime, the Greendale Entertainment Association needs the community to vote on who should move forward in the competition. The three bands with the highest votes will move on to the live Village Days competition in August. At the end of the line, the best band will receive a cash prize, according to Facebook posts from the Greendale Entertainment Association (GEA) The competitors each come with their own style and flair. Greendale Entertainment Association posted performance videos of each of the bands. After deciding which of these bands deserves to move on to the final Village Days Battle of the Bands, be sure to vote on the GEA Battle of the Bands Facebook page. Voting on who will move on closes on July 1. The GEA will announce the three finalists on July 2. Here is a rundown on each of the competitors and a link to their performance. BA Blues Band The BA Blues Band pumps out upbeat, danceable music- influenced by rock and boogie, that can "take all your blues away," the band wrote on Facebook. See their performance on Facebook. The Taxmen The Taxmen put out rock-themed tunes, relying on the standard guitar-bass-drums trio. The group doesn't shy away from acoustics and more sensitive vocals, though. See their performance on Youtube. SIGNALFIRE Signalfire was established in 2007 in Milwaukee, according to their website. The band busts out heavier-metal sounding music. Landline - the live alternative jukebox Landline is a Milwaukee based band that plays alternative jukebox staples from bands like REM, INXS, Weezer, The Cure, Foo Fighters, The Killers, U2, Pearl Jam and others, their website states. DoubleCross of Milwaukee DoubleCross is a five-member band that covers tunes from the likes of Billy Idol, Lynyrd Skynrd, REO, Rolling Stones, Steppenwolf, Stevie Ray Vaughan and other iconic American rock bands, their website states. See their performance on Facebook. Scarlet Scarlet hails from Northeastern Wisconsin. It is a modern hard-rock band that plays originals as well as covers from bands like Three Days Grace, Seether and A7X, according to the band's Facebook page. See their performance on Facebook. The final Greendale Entertainment Association Battle of the Bands will occur at Greendale's Village Days in August. The competition will start at 12 p.m. on August 14 at the Hose Tower stage.
