25 Years of Love and Joy: Greek Restaurant Farm Grill & Rotisserie Celebrates a Milestone Family-Owned Restaurant Approaches Memorial Day with Homemade Greek Traditions and Delicious New Items Twenty-five years after opening its doors at 40 Needham Street, Newton, Greek restaurant Farm Grill & Rotisserie wants to reward its customers and the local community for its continued strength. As life reopens and restaurants push forward, Farm Grill owner Alex Iliades feels fortunate to have grown even more community connections—and to give back to those who have not been as lucky. “We’re approaching the holiday weekend with excitement, gratitude, and anticipation,” he said. “Farm Grill is celebrating more than our birthday year; we feel like our business is being reborn.” Whether dining in or outside, or ordering platters for family events, Farm Grill’s large base of loyal customers continue to experience the traditional Greek cuisine and family atmosphere that are its signatures. Alex’s father Savvas is up with the sunrise preparing items from homemade soups to hot and cold sides with healthy Mediterranean ingredients. Farm Grill stands out for an extraordinary assortment of vegetables, meats and seafood grilled to perfection, ultra-stuffed gyros, tzatziki “infused” with dill, desserts baked by the Iliades family, and much more. New since the pandemic: The restaurant is now the place to find fresh, Egyptian-style Farm Grill Pita. Baked in clay ovens, this bread is softer and thicker than traditional pita, and opens up in a beautiful, warm pocket when toasted or heated. It’s perfect with tzatziki, yogurt or Farm Grill’s homemade dressing, which doubles as a dip.Individuals who love this dressing can now find it through local grocery delivery service New England Country Mart, in addition to the restaurant. It’s very common for customers to walk inside and be surprised by menu items reflecting other traditions—such as Chinese chicken dumplings paired with tzatziki. Farm Grill enjoys combining ingredients creatively to delight diners with something very new. The Iliades family wants everyone in Newton to feel the support that they have experienced. For that reason, they have been regularly donating soup to the Newton Community Freedge, as well. Farm Grill is open Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm for indoor and outdoor dining, takeout and delivery. On Memorial Day weekend, the restaurant will be closed Monday, May 31.
