BOSTON — Live music will come back to Boston in a big way next year when the Boston Calling Music Festival returns, headlined by two of the biggest names in rock history. Organizers announced Foo Fighters and Rage Against the Machine will top a bill of more than 60 performers when Boston's biggest music festival returns to the Harvard Athletic Complex from May 27-29, 2022. Additional performers are expected to be announced over the coming months. "We couldn't be happier to return in 2022 and deliver a full-scale festival with two of the world's most celebrated rock bands as our headliners," said Boston Calling's co-founder Brian Appel."We've spent the past year working on a festival that our fans can really look forward to, and we're so excited to share more news and surprises as we get into next year." Foo Fighters and Rage Against the Machine were both set to headline the 2020 edition of Boston Calling before organizers canceled the festival amid the coronavirus pandemic. Foo Fighters, after celebrating their 25th anniversary last year and releasing their 10th studio album in February, will take the Boston Calling stage in 2022 with their electric live show. Rage Against the Machine's appearance is the band's first tour in over 10 years, and Boston Calling is the band's only New England show scheduled in 2022. Ticket InformationA limited number of early-bird, three-day general admission tickets are available for $299.99. VIP packages are also available on the festival's website. Organizers said the VIP and Platinum tier packages are set for a big expansion in 2022. Perks include a new VIP lounge with full bars and unique amenities, an enhanced viewing area and food prepared by some of Boston's best chefs.
