Major Food Bank Eyeing Manchester Location For Regional Center

MANCHESTER, CT — The Midwest Food Bank is planning to establish its New England base of operations in Manchester. An application has been submitted to the local Planning & Zoning Commission for a special exemption permit for a portion of 579 Middle Turnpike West. For bank officials are proposing only minor changes to the building but would occupy the entire vacant portion, planning officials said. There is no scheduled date yet for PZC review. ____ This story is part of Patch's new partnership with Feeding America.
