GERMANTOWN, MD — Montgomery County residents are invited to participate in an online discussion about Black youth suicide and mental health challenges during the pandemic on Wednesday, June 2.
The session is part of the county's ongoing series — "Wellness Community Events: Healing and Holding On - One Conversation at a Time for the Community" — which focuses on mental health and wellness issues brought on by the public health crisis.
The upcoming discussion will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tammy Blake, a licensed clinical social worker at the county's Department of Health and Human Services, will be the presenter.

Statistics on Black youth suicide ratesSigns and symptoms of suicidal ideation and mental health needs in youthRisk and protective factors for suicide in Black populationsAttitudes and perceptions about suicide and mental health in Black communitiesStrategies and resources for Black youth and families to address mental health and suicideThe event is free and no registration is required.
