Climber Injured After Falling 30 Feet Off 2nd Flatiron

BOULDER, CO — A 31-year-old man was rescued Wednesday after he fell off the face of the Second Flatiron, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said. Rescue crews were called to Chautauqua Park around 8:45 a.m. after the climber fell 30 feet and suffered several injuries, officials said. He was scrambling on the Dodge Block climbing route when one of his handholds dislodged from the rock face. After first responders treated him, he was carried to the trailhead by the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, but he turned down ambulance transportation, officials said.
