Description

Troy Community School District 30-C will be partnering with its food vendor Arbor Management to offer free breakfast/lunch meals for children aged 18 and under this summer. Recipients do not need to attend Troy schools. Curbside pick-ups will be held on Wednesday mornings, 9-11:30 a.m., at Troy Middle School and Troy Heritage Trail Elementary School beginning June 9 and ending August 4. Each pick-up provides enough food for seven days of breakfasts and lunches. There will be no meals offered on July 7 or on August 11, but meals on the previous Wednesdays will be doubled to last for 14 days, rather than seven. "Troy does not usually offer summer meals," said Troy Business Manager Amanda Sitar," but with the current economy, families may still be struggling. The program is called the Seamless Summer option. We want to ensure that our community has continued access to nutritious meals during this time." Funding for the program will be met through the USDA Meals for Kids program.
