Fiery Route 6 Wreck: 5 Joliet Ambulances Respond To Crash

JOLIET, IL — Members of the Joliet Fire Department used social media shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday to urge people to stay away from Route 6 and Houbolt Road where there was a fiery crash involving three vehicles. The crash was along Route 6 east of Houbolt, authorities said. The Joliet Firefighters Local 44 reported that two fire engines, one tower ladder truck and five Joliet Fire Department ambulances were responding to the crash scene. "Please use caution as crews are going to be committed to the scene for some time. If you can avoid the area, please do so as there is a helicopter on standby."
