Pedal Steel Player Looking to Jam

Description

I'm an advanced guitarist who started playing pedal steel in January. I am looking to play with other folks for fun and to further my abilities. I take private lessons every week that cover techniques, but really want some time with others to play songs. I was playing with a few people a couple months ago with good results, and realized that playing with other people really helped me progress with the instrument. That group has since disbanded, so I'm looking to see if anyone else out there has any desire to have a pedal steel player sit in. Since I'm a beginner, I really need to know what songs to play in advance so I can write a part and have it ready to go. I can do improv if the chords are relatively simple (cowboy chords). I have great gear (GFI Expo + Fender Deluxe Reverb), am self sufficient, have transportation, and a positive attitude. I am also able to play electric (preferred) or acoustic guitar during the jam; as that's my primary instrument. I can play either rhythm or lead, but long drawn out solos aren't my thing when I'm playing lead. As far as music genres (which I hate defining); I'm really into alt-country (Ryan Adams, Drive-by Truckers, Son Volt, Wilco, Neil Young, etc) and classic outlaw country (Waylon, Willie, David Alan Coe, Merle, etc). Although I grew up with 90s hit country and has a soft spot in my heart... I'm not super interested in doing that stuff. Would also be down for any type of indie/folk/whateveryouwanttocallit type thing. Perhaps a local band looking to add some pedal steel flavor would work too. I am not scared of original compositions, and would actually prefer it compared to doing nothing but covers. Weekends at pretty much any time or weeknights after 7pm are best for me. However, with advanced notice I can probably make other times work. I don't mind meeting at a rehearsal studio like The Band Cave. I'm located in Golden/Lakewood. A shorter drive is definitely a plus for me. Pleas text if interested. Craigslist emails usually go to spam. Please do not call; I won't answer because I assume any unknown callers are an automated voice message asking me to purchase an extended car warranty.
