Cupertino City Manager Announces Resignation

CUPERTINO, CA — City Manager Deborah Feng announced Wednesday that she would be leaving her post and gave her 30-day notice. Feng, a Cupertino native, was appointed in June 2019 and worked with community leaders to mitigate the obstacles of last year's massive fire season and the devastating coronavirus pandemic in Cupertino. "I am proud of what we've been able to accomplish throughout the past two years," Feng said. "We were able to guide the community through the pandemic, identify housing for dozens of people in need, develop a rental assistance program for our most vulnerable residents, and support our small businesses through grants. During her time as city manager, Feng facilitated the expansion of the Cupertino Library and took and took ownership of the Lawrence Mitty Property, city officials said in a Wednesday release. "We could not have accomplished all of this without the support of our City Council and staff," Feng said. "It has been a pleasure to work side-by-side with them." She also hosted several city walks, coffee talks and community forums on law enforcement and policing. "I wish Deb the very best of luck and thank her for her service to Cupertino," Mayor Darcy Paul said in a statement.
