Press release from the Coronado Unified School District:
May 24, 2021
by: Kami McElligott
CUSD is pleased to announce a return series of presentations by veteran DEA Agent, Rocky Herron to students and the community. The presentation informs students about the consequences of drug abuse in individuals, families, schools, communities, and our nation from the perspective of a 31 year veteran of the DEA and parent of three.
Rocky has witnessed the toll that isolation, mental health challenges, and how a change in routines, have affected youth, as a result of the pandemic. The mission of this program is to promote self-motivation in our young people so they can recognize their potential, the importance of education, and their intrinsic ability to contribute their talent to society. This presentation goes beyond the typical "Just Say No to Drugs," but instead is focused on the empowerment to CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE.
