Description
"Acid Jazz" band looking for drummer for bi-weekly Saturday or Sunday jam sessions.
We recently lost our long-time drummer. We have three decades of original songs and arrangements that'll serve as a starting point. Plus we do our own versions of a number of covers that lend themselves to real-time interpretation. But we're essentially a jam band that's open to creating new material and deviating from the norm.
No vocals, all instrumental (bass/guitar(s) and drums. And we improvise (a lot). We choose or create an arrangement as a starting point, often ending up elsewhere. Plenty of dynamics.
No girlfriends or friends, just us musicians, sequestered for a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon of creating music. We stop and order (or grill) good food, and the get-togethers are spirited and good for the soul.
Styles include jazz, rock, fusion and Latin.
You don't need to learn anything to start. Just show up and we'll start playing and see what happens.
While we have played out before, it's the exception and not the rule. We're all 58+ and adept at our instruments. We're looking for a drummer who knows how to tickle `em as well as pound `em. A dynamic drummer who understands jazz drumming. And who is 420-friendly, as that's part of our musical experience.
That's it. If this is something that interests you, drop a short note why and we'll respond to some links to our material. Thank you.
