We’re seeking a Maintenance Technician with experience working in residential properties. Our property contains around 70 units that will require general maintenance and repair, grounds keeping and some light renovation. Experience with some electrical and plumbing required. HVAC knowledge and bilingual skills are a plus. We are looking for someone who's local to Dekalb, IL and available to respond in a timely manner, especially in an emergency situation. Responsibilities: Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; eg, OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc. Remain available to perform work orders and routine/preventative and deferred maintenance tasks in addition to ad hoc projects Ability to perform landscaping, snow/ice removal and keeping grounds neat and free of litter Assist in the collection of bids and procurement of outside services and/or vendors for contract or repair work. Maintain accurate records & document resolutions regarding preventive maintenance, work orders (received and completed), expenditures, apartment make-ready status, work-in-progress, etc. Remain aware of the condition of physical property throughout the community and immediately notify management of any unsafe conditions; e.g., broken gates/fences, broken steps, open holes, broken/burned out exterior lights and documents appropriately. Assist in scheduling and performing minor and routine maintenance on all appropriate equipment on a regular basis. * This position requires successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
