Fertilizer/Pesticide Department Manager is responsible for the application of controlled materials to residential and commercial properties. Fertilizer/Pesticide Department Manager will hold a snow plow position in the winter months but will be working on growing the department between snow events. Fertilizer/Pesticide Department Manager is responsible for the growth and development of the fertilization department of Cutting Edge Landscapes, which includes coordinating resources, including labor, equipment and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines and quality standards. Responsibilities/Duties: • Scouting and monitoring properties for various insect, disease and environmental stresses and their treatment plans. • Applying fertilizer, weed control and insect control to lawns according to schedule. Safety procedures, and label instructions. • Selling new programs and suggesting new services and applications for existing customers, clients, and partners. • Effectively communicating with customers regarding treatments and recommendations • Product knowledge/understanding concentrated amounts to effectively gain maximum results • Completion of accurate documentation for customer, office, and Department of Agriculture. • Able and willing to work in weather conditions for long periods of time • Testing and calibrating equipment to ensure proper ratios of product are applied • Assist in field work each day to ensure production deadlines are met as well as quality of workmanship. • Ensure all materials; equipment and other supplies are ordered and/or on hand for your respective daily assignments. • Mentor and train crew leaders and crew members to ensure safe and effective implementation of Cutting Edge Landscapes quality standards • Ensures all work is completed in adherence to safety policies, standards and guidelines. • Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the field, vehicles, shop, field offices and customer work-sites. • Develop and recommend improved work methods and standards. • Attends continuing education courses to maintain Qualified Applicator’s Certificate. • Understanding scheduling, timing of applications, and routing of applications for maximum efficiency. • Make recommendations to remedy affected turf areas from above outlines stressors. • Building relationships with customers, clients, partner’s sell/upsell turf programs and or services. • Orders, stores, handles, mixes, and applies pesticides in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations; • Maintains and cleans equipment for daily use to ensure optimum operation is achieved. • To maintain a safe working environment and enforce all safety standards, protocols, and regulations. • Meet regularly with owners to ensure assigned duties and responsibilities are in line with Cutting Edge Landscapes standards. Requirements • Individuals must hold a valid Missouri Pesticide License • Able and willing to lead by example • Effective communication with current and potential clients • Must have a valid drivers license • Works well independently or in a team environment
