Control Room Operator– JAIL/CORRECTIONS No degree required, no related experience required, excellent paid training, and career advancement opportunities APPLY ONLINE AT THIS POSITION utilizes hand-eye coordination to manage and monitor all doors, gates, video surveillance, and intercom systems in the Kootenai County Jail. This primary function ensures the safety of all jail employees, visitors, and inmates by controlling the movement of people inside, and outside of the jail electronically. Communication between this position and Deputies on the floor, as well as inmates via intercom system is a major component of daily activities. TECHNOLOGY UTILIZED IN THIS POSITION: • Audio-visual electronic control console, touch screen control system, computer database, base radio, intercom, and fire alarm systems. We train you! WORK SCHEDULE: This position requires working weekends, holidays, and rotating shift schedules covering 24 hour periods. Five-eight hour shifts weekly, with two consecutive days off. Shifts are bid for on an eight (8) week period according to seniority among all Control Room Operators DO YOU QUALIFY? • Do you have at least a High School Diploma or GED; and six months experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience? • Do you enjoy working with technology, and interacting with people in a large-scale operation? • Are you interested in law enforcement?
