Job Summary Test and inspects units before they are approved for shipment. Essential Functions Test field mull units Ensures paint matches Tests bifold doors/windows, sliders, and active doors and windows Tests hardware (locks, hinges, etc) for smooth operation Tests thresholds for functionality Ensures everything is square and plumb. Makes necessary adjustments to fix any functionality issues or sends back to correct work center. Works on Special projects and performs other duties as assigned. (5-10%) Knowledge and Abilities Able to interpret instructions both written and oral. Able to work in a team with co-workers to resolve work-related issues. Knowledge of and familiarity with basic hand and power tools used in construction. Knowledge of squaring and straightening. Knowledge of basic shop math, including the ability to measure accurately to 1/32”. Able to read, understand, and interpret production drawings and shop orders. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience in manufacturing or construction highly preferred. Physical Demands Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Lifting objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. · Stooping and bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. · Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. · Crouching downward and forward by bending legs and spine. · Standing for sustained periods of time. · Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward. · Using upper extremities to exert force to pull, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion. Work Environment The worker is subject to temperature changes inside the facility. The worker is subject to hazards not limited to proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on ladders and scaffolding, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
