Warde Senior Living in Windham, NH, is currently a 49-bed Assisted Living community and a 32-bed skilled nursing facility offering short and long-term care in a warm, supportive atmosphere where residents are cared for according to their individual needs. We also have 21 brand new independent living apartments that provide an affordable living option to our community. We are excited for this newest addition of services which will enhance our campus and overall continuum of services. We are proud to be part of Catholic Charities New Hampshire. We are looking for a full-time (40 hrs/week) Housekeeper, both including every other weekend, to join our Environmental Services team. Our ideal candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, able to work independently and be meticulous in the level of service provided to our residents. Job Responsibilities • Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions and specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and established policies and procedures • Ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner and that our residents and their personal belongings are handled with respect and care • Maintain confidentiality of all resident related care information to ensure residents rights are protected • Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing staff when performing daily and routine assignments in resident areas • Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions • Perform proper cleaning procedures when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area as well as clean any vacant rooms as directed • Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures • Ensure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies are maintained in utility/janitorial closets and keep supervisor informed of supply needs • Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored at all times Requirements • Must possess a minimum of a 6th grade education; High School Graduate or GED preferred • Must be punctual, dependable, and demonstrate compassion and patience • Must be able to read, write and speak English • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions • Interact professionally with residents, family members, visitors and staff Physical Demands • Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, stretching and moving intermittently throughout the facility • Close and distance vision, ability to distinguish color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus • Must be able to frequently lift and carry 10 lbs, occasionally lift and transfer up to 20 lbs, regularly push wheeled cart exerting 40 lbs lateral force and support 50 lbs for brief duration • Ability to hear alarms, ability hear and give verbal instructions and to converse • Ability to participate in and assist with emergency evacuation If you are someone who appreciates and truly cares for the welfare of the geriatric population and are seeking a rewarding career opportunity, apply now.
