Description

ONE HOUR TOUR WITH COCKTAILS & BITES + FOUR-COURSE DINNER 33 W. Kinzie | Sunday, June 20 | 5 PM $95/Guest ($55/child 10 & under) Before 33 West Kinzie was home to one of Chicago’s most celebrated steakhouses, it was owned by some of the most notorious characters in Chicago history, including Chicago mob boss Frank “The Enforcer” Nitti, his wife (nicknamed the Black Widow who knew more about Capone’s business matters than anyone, including Capone himself), Chicago’s first mayor (who also owned Chicago’s first brewery), Abraham Lincoln’s law partner (a key Prohibition pioneer), and a multi-millionaire bootlegger. Join us for a peek into the history of 33 West Kinzie, brought to life by remarkable stories, spaces, relics and photographs dating back to 1820. The tour, led by Grant DePorter, who, through vast research and consultations with local historians, has compiled the definitive history of the historic landmark building and property on which it stands. Guests will be greeted in Harry’s bar with prohibition era cocktails and small bites, and will then venture into once-hidden areas of the building that few have ever seen, including the apartment once inhabited by notorious mob boss Frank Nitti. Following the tour, guests will enjoy a four-course dinner in Harry’s dining room inspired by the individuals and events they just learned about.
