Come gather for our AVL Women & Wine summer soiree at fabulous Haiku I Do!! Rustic Grape Wine Tastings (formerly Wine Bar) is thrilled to offer this popular monthly networking event to our community in 2021! Our friends at the charming event space Haiku I Do will be hosting this month! We'll have complimentary lite snacks, a dynamic event speaker and be supporting a local non-profit. A (free) ticket is required for entry. Featured Speaker: J Chong is originally from Toronto, currently calling Asheville, NC home. J worked for James Beard nominated chef Katie Button for almost 5 years before starting her own company when the pandemic hit. J is passionate about bringing Cantonese food to western North Carolina along with a culinary experience. She sells frozen dumplings at local farmers markets here in Asheville, leads cooking classes and offers private dinners. J believes that food is medicine and food brings people together. Aside from being a Chef, J, is a proud and vocal Asian queer activist for LGBTQ+, BIPOC and AAPI people and continues to use her voice to fight against racial injustice. She is also on the board for Campaign for Southern Equality and Asheville Strong. @jchong_eats
