NASSAU COUNTY, NY —Nassau County legislators are partnering with the American Acadaemy of Pediatrics to hold a webinar about vaccinating children against the coronavirus on Wednesday. The webinar, "COVID-19 Vaccines and Your Child," is being presented by Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) and New York State Senators Jim Gaughran (D - Northport), Kevin Thomas (D - Hicksville) and Anna Kaplan (D - North Hills). The webinar will feature a panel of experts in pediatrics, who will respond to community questions about the efficacy and safety of the coronavirus vaccine in younger patients. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Shetal Shah, president of the Long Island chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a practicing neonatologist at Westchester's Maria Fareri Children's Hospital and a prominent regional child health advocate. The rest of the panel will be: Dr. Eve Meltzer-Krief, Huntington-based private practitioner and Legislative Advocacy Chair, Long Island chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.Dr. Lorry G. Rubin, director of pediatric infectious diseases, department of pediatrics, at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center, New Hyde Park.Dr. Leonard R. Krilov, chief of pediatric infectious diseases and chairman of Pediatrics at NYU Langone Hospital - Long Island.Dr. Sheila Nolan, section chief of pediatric infectious diseases, Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, Westchester.Dr. Sharon Nachman, chief of division of pediatric infectious diseases, Stony Brook Children's Hospital.
