Bellevue Fire Hosts Pop-Up Vaccine Clinics For Ages 12+ This Week

BELLEVUE, WA — The Bellevue Fire Department's mobile vaccination team will visit two more area parks this week, stocked with enough doses to serve all residents ages 12 and up. The pop-up clinics do not require an appointment and both run from morning hours to mid-afternoon. Adults 18 and older can receive their first or second dose of Moderna vaccine, or choose the single-dose Johnson & Johnson. The Pfizer vaccine will be prioritized for adolescents and teens. Here are the details for this week's pop-up clinics: Wednesday, May 26: Medina Park8000 NE 12th St.9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.Thursday, May 27: Crossroads Park9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Bellevue's expanding vaccine efforts come as state and county health leaders continue to shift immunization strategies to reach more younger people and bring vaccines directly to where residents live, work and visit. As of Tuesday, 72 percent of King County residents 12 and older had received at least one dose, and more than 58 percent were fully vaccinated, meaning two weeks past their final dose. Totals on the Eastside are a bit higher than the average, but there are still thousands in need of a dose. The county's goal is to hit the 70 percent fully-vaccinated mark before the state reopens on June 30, which will also allow for Public Health - Seattle & King County to rescind its recently reimposed indoor mask mandate.
