How many of you have a DSLR camera that you wish could give you better images? A HANDS-ON PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS!Do you take the picture and then realize later that it was ruined because it was blurry or too bright? How many moments have you missed out on capturing because, well, you just aren't exactly sure how to get your camera to do what you want? I think the most important thing to know is that I have been exactly where you are. Truly I have. I have photos that make me cringe when I see them. When I see photographs I have taken 10 years ago, I think to myself, for the love of Pete someone should have stopped the madness! However, I did exactly what you are doing, invested in my education. Yes, you can learn to take better pictures. You just need the right person to show you how to do that. I received my BA from Penn State Main campus, and have also become a certified substitute teacher. My favorite age to teach in school? Kindergarten. You know what that means right? I have patience and nerves of steel. You won't be able to frustrate me, and no question is ever a sill question! We will have so much fun, and I can't wait to help you grow! WHAT IT IS:Workshop day will consist of me talking to you about all of the fun, sometimes frustrating technical stuff! Crop vs. full frame, jpeg vs RAW, exposure balance, your camera controls, aperture, shutter, ISO, noise, white balance, and good gravy so much more! My images are not good by chance! I will show you some cringe worthy images from when I first started out! Yikes! Do not let your camera tell you anymore what an image should look like! We are going to help you learn the concept of MANUAL EXPOSURE ! No more auto-mode! Image Review: This is probably the most invaluable experience you will ever receive! I will set aside time to go over images you want me to look at in your portfolio (or just images you have taken). I will explain to you how we can make those images better! Where I post photos with my settings, and where you can post your images with your settings for critique and help! We do photo challenges and the whole 9 yards! HANDS-ON SHOOTING: We will go out to a local location and shoot a subject as well as some architecture images in the lovely little town of Tyrone. I will provide the subject and I will shoot alongside you! We will do this together and I will help each person individually. I know it will be COLD out so please dress appropriately. I also recommend choosing the gear you can carry in a shoulder bag! After that, if you are up for it, we will go out to dinner where you can discuss everything we have went over and ask me any final questions you may have!
