The more orders you complete safely and efficiently, the more money you earn each week! The average Publix Selector performs at a rate greater than 100% which means that you, too, can earn above standard pay. Are you the competitive type? Selectors are constantly walking, lifting, bending and stretching. If you’re into sports, cardio, strength training, weightlifting, running or bodybuilding, this job will help keep you in shape. Selectors pull products ordered by Publix stores, place them onto pallets, wrap the finished order, and get it ready to be placed on a truck for delivery. To increase their efficiency, Selectors use state-of-the-art technology to notify them of the products that have been ordered and where they are in the warehouse. Our Warehouse Selectors are instrumental in helping keep our shelves stocked in our more than 1,200 store locations. The responsibilities listed on this posting are not intended to be all-inclusive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. What you need to succeed: • be at least 18 years old • be able to: o work weekends, holidays and extended periods of time o obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations (on or before the start date in the position) o select, lift, carry and stack product weighing - 67 pounds for High Velocity, Low Velocity, Frozen Foods and Produce - 85 pounds for Boxed Meat/Dairy o stand, bend, stoop and twist and do repetitive work for long periods of time o operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside of the operator compartment o work under strict time requirements o read, write and identify and verify numbers o interpret, understand and follow instructions and o pass a Physical Agility Test (before the start date in the position) Hours of Work: Rotating Schedule Work Environment: • Non-Refrigerated- Temperatures could exceed 90° Fahrenheit for an extended period of time (High Velocity) and temperatures could exceed 90+° Fahrenheit for an extended period of time (Low Velocity). • Refrigerated- Temperatures could range from 20 degrees below to zero for an extended period of time (Frozen Food), 28 degrees to 35 degrees Fahrenheit (Boxed Meat/Dairy) and 35 degrees to 55 degrees Fahrenheit in a wet environment (Produce). Potential Annual Base Pay: Efficiency Based Pay Year End Bonus: Publix provides a Holiday bonus in November based on certain criteria. The longer your tenure with Publix, the better your bonus! Other Compensation Information: • Efficiency Based Pay • Night differential: A $.50 per hour night differential is paid to associates regularly scheduled to work any hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m. (this does not include shifts that end at midnight or begin at 3:00AM). • Weekend premium pay: $2 per hour weekend premium pay for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday • Freezer differential: A $.50 per hour freezer differential is paid to associates regularly scheduled in the Frozen Food freezer.
