Obama, BLM Co-Founder To Join Newark Mayor At Forum On Policing

NEWARK, NJ — Former president Barack Obama will join #BlackLivesMatter co-founder Alicia Garza, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and other community leaders for a virtual event at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. According to city officials, the forum – "A Conversation With President Obama" – will discuss the "unprecedented" levels of activism since the murder of George Floyd a year ago in Minneapolis. The conversation will also include an overview of the "work that remains," and the "importance of reimagining policing and public safety." Learn more about the discussion here.
