Description

Although animal sales are prohibited on craigslist, many people post advertisements anyway. Most of these are scams, there are no animals for sale; they just want to trick you into sending a deposit or to collect your personal information. Others are backyard breeders, torturing animals for profit, and lying about their "pedigrees". Here are the ways to identify a scam ad: No amount given for the "rehoming fee". Rehoming is $250 or less. Phone number or email address ON the picture. Pictures obviously swiped from the internet, looking like they were taken by a professional. Pictures of animals inside a car (they were just picked up for cheap/free and the person is looking to "flip" them for a profit asap). Pictures of the animals being held up on display like a street corner fruit vendor (backyard breeders). Mixed loWer cASe anD UpPer CaSe letters. Use of symbols //- along with++++ letters. Any post containing the words French, frenchie, bengal, maltipoo, goldendoodle, sheepdog, bulldog. ALL of these are frauds or backyard breeders, immediately flag them for removal.
