Army Generals To Talk Leadership At First Division Museum Event

WHEATON, IL — Retired and active generals who served in the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division will come together to discuss their experiences with leadership in a free Zoom event hosted by the First Division Museum at Cantigny Park. "Leadership: A Conversation with the Generals" is slated for June 8 at 7 p.m. The discussion will be moderated by retired Colonel Dr. Krewasky A. Salter, who serves as executive director for the Museums at Cantigny Park. "We've assembled a remarkable group of general officers whose experiences during active duty are extremely relevant to all walks of life," Salter said in a news release. Featured speakers at "Leadership: A Conversation with the Generals" include: Major General Douglas A. Sims II, current commanding general of 1st Infantry DivisionGeneral Vincent K. Brooks, who served as company commander and commanding general of 1st Infantry DivisionLieutenant General Ronald L. Watts, who commanded 1st Infantry Division during later years of the Cold WarLieutenant General Thomas G. Rhame, who commanded 1st Infantry Division during Operation Desert StormLieutenant General Perry L. Wiggins, who commanded 1st Infantry Division from 2008 to 2009Major General David L. Grang, who commanded 1st Infantry Division before retiring in 2000 Salter added, "They have agreed to share their insights on leadership as military officers and civilians, and to share their experiences leading some of America's finest men and women in peacetime and in combat.
