Press release from the City of Charleston: May 25, 2021 The city of Charleston will be closed on Monday, May 31st in observance of Memorial Day. In order to provide service to all residents in a timely manner, garbage and trash collection will take place on the modified schedule outlined below: For residents of Daniel Island and Cainhoy (serviced by Capital Waste): Collection will take place on a normal schedule. For residents of outer West Ashley and Johns Island (formally serviced by Carolina Waste and now Trident Waste): Collection will take place on a one-day delay the week of the 31st. For residents of the Peninsula, inner West Ashley and James Island (serviced by city crews): Collection will take place on a one-day delay the week of the 31st.
