Summary/Objective The Traffic Control Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the traffic control plan and other safety aspects of the project are properly set-up and effectively managed throughout the term of the project. Essential Functions • Acts as a liaison between K&D Services and the customer. When required by contract, attends traffic control coordination meetings or coordination activities with the customer’s Traffic Control Manager or in-charge, and authorizing agency(ies). • Keeps a current set of approved TCP's and the latest copy of the MUTCD on-site at all times for reference. • Sets up the temporary traffic control zone in accordance with the traffic control plan by distributing signs, cones, and other directional devices within the established work site. • Responsible for monitoring the temporary traffic control set-up during the course of the work to ensure that it continues to be set-up accurately at all times and that it functions effectively. • Ensures that all needed traffic control devices are available and in good working condition prior to the need to install those devices. • Responsible for modifying the temporary traffic control set-up, if necessary, to ensure efficient traffic flow and to best provide for the safety for workers, motorists, and pedestrians. • Documents, with pictures, any significant on-site changes from the traffic control plan. • Maintain the Contractor's Traffic Control Log daily on each job site when designated as a TCS. • Prepares and submits all other required documentation to the authorizing agencies in a timely manner. • Provides daily direction to flaggers, including a tailgate meeting at the beginning of the shift and regular coordination as needed during the day to answer questions, ensure compliance with labor standards, and resolve problems. • Brings significant problems or concerns to the attention of the customer's in-charge and/or K&D management. • Responsible for shutting down the jobsite, if required to re-establish compliance with the temporary traffic control plan and safety standards. • Performs flagger tasks, when appropriate or necessary, so long as TCS duties are not compromised. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities. Travel Travel is required for this position. You may be required to drive a company vehicle up to 75 miles to a job site. The company makes every effort to minimize travel. Required Education and Experience • Successful completion of drug test. • Successful completion of background screen. License and Certification • TCS Certification • Must possess a current TCS card • Possess a valid state driver’s license, in the state you reside in. • Maintain a clean driving record according to company policy • Successfully complete the Decisive Driving Training.
