FLEET MECHANIC - PM $20-28/hr with a full benefits package and Harbor perks! SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to perform preventative maintenance and repair work on all company trucks, trailers and warehouse equipment in order to minimize the effect of down time on production. Must work well independently, understand accountability, and have a desire to take care of internal customers. Safety is the bottom line and the work done by this person helps keep everyone safe. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL TASKS Perform oil changes as necessary Lubricate chassis, transmissions, wheel hubs, rear axles, and 5th wheels Check batteries on tractors, trailers and forklifts Check and replace belts Check and replace brake shoes Check the DVIR and file accordingly Check and replace wheel bearings Check and replace clutches Diagnose and fix electrical problems (low voltage) Maintain fluid levels as needed Replace starter, alternators, windshield wipers and generators (light to heavy vehicles) KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment preferred All experience with any mechanical functions within an organized fleet and with machinery that requires regular maintenance will be considered. ****** TO LEARN MORE & APPLY *****
