PROVIDENCE, RI — Following the latest reopening guidance from the Rhode Island Department of Health, fully vaccinated visitors of the Roger Williams Park Zoo no longer need to wear a mask. The new policy went into effect Saturday. Only fully vaccinated people can go mask-free in the zoo, meaning they received their final vaccine dose at least two weeks prior to their visit. Anyone who is not fully vaccinated is still required to wear a mask indoors and when social distancing is not possible outdoors. Don't throw that mask away just yet. To protect free-roaming animals, all visitors will be asked to wear a mask inside the Faces of the Rainforest exhibit building. "The safety of our visitors, staff, and animals remains top of mind," the zoo said in a statement. "Please continue to respect your fellow animal lovers, our staff, and the animals that we care for." Timed-entry tickets are still required to visit. Purchase tickets and learn more about reopening in the zoo's website. Related: Asian Lanterns Light Up The Night At Roger Williams Park Zoo
