NORTHBROOK, IL — Police are investigating a lead relating to a missing person cold case from the winter of 1982 in Northbrook. The new information is related to the case of Linda H. Seymour, who disappeared without a trace 39 years ago.

(Courtesy of The Charley Project)Seymour, who was 35 at the time she went missing, was last seen at around 2 p.m. Dec. 21, 1982 in Northbrook, according to The Charley Project. She has never been seen or heard from again. Few details have ever been available in her case.
The Northbrook Police Department and North Regional Major Crimes Task Force conducted a dig Tuesday morning for the possibility of human remains in the 1400 block of Orchard Lane, as reported by NorthShore Updates. Seymour was a resident of a home in this area at the time of her disappearance.
Northbrook police said there is no active threat to the community.
Out of respect for current residents, the Northbrook Police Department is asking the community to be mindful of those who reside there. The Northbrook Police will provide an update when information is available.
