Relative Stabbed At Joliet House With Pocket Knife: Cops

JOLIET, IL — A Will County judge has set bail at $25,000 for a 36-year-old Joliet man who police say stabbed one of his relatives several times Saturday morning. Joliet officers responded to the non-fatal stabbing and arrested Martell Perkins on charges of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery and domestic battery. The violence happened around 10:15 a.m. in the 300 block of South Ottawa Street, which is where Perkins resides. "Officers located an adult male inside the residence with multiple stab wounds," Joliet police said. "After further investigation, it was determined that Perkins became engaged in a physical altercation with the male victim ... During the altercation, Perkins produced a pocketknife and stabbed the victim multiple times." The stabbing victim was taken by Joliet Fire Department ambulance to the AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center, and police say his wounds are not life-threatening. On Tuesday morning, Perkins remained in Will County's Jail.
